This site uses open source software. For that most part that means it is free to use.
The primary site uses Geeklog an open source CMS (Content Management System). This includes the Links, Polls, and Calendar portions of this site as well as the main content.
In addition to that there are 3 primary addon plugins.
They are
Captcha - That thing when you register that creates hard to read images, this turns out to be a necessary Evil. Otherwise spammers will automatically register and post to the site. I had several sites that had a major problem with this until the Captcha plugin was released. Since then I have not had 1 problem with a Spammer on a Geeklog site.
Media Gallery - The very cool Gallery system installed here.
Forum - The forums that you are reading right now.
This can be just a start. There are lots of nice plugins out there. Most are free, a few charge a slight fee. For those that are "Free" most accept donations. I recommend that ATBTS determine which portions of the site are most useful and budget about $50 per year as a contribution for each plugin, including the main Geeklog Software. This is only a suggestion however and I am happy to help further in this if asked.
This is a pretty comprehensive list of plugins. If you see something you think might be useful please let me know and I will see if I can get it integrated into the site.

Eric,
Don't loose sight of what this website is for.
The ATBTS web site is for the owners; for information exchange, for suggestions, to keep in touch with each other, and so on.
Most people, when using a web site, want the web site to be easy to use; they want to find what they are looking for. Generally, users do not care what plug-ins are used or anything like that. People just want it too work and to work easily from their point of view.
I've been working in DP for over 30 years and I know just how much fun it can be to code up some nifty routines. But very few other people care. Focus on the needs of your end users; the owners at Abaco Towns.
